Boracay Guide

The Island of Boracay holds a special place in Maine and Chir’s journey. It is the place where they first travelled together as a couple and ignited their love for travels and adventures. It’s a small island in the south of Manila. Getting there requires different modes of transportation such as by air, by land and by sea.

We recommend travelling by air from Manila to Caticlan.

Take the Manila to Caticlan route (via Philippine Airlines /Cebu Pacific/ Air Asia) It’s a 45-minute flight from Manila on an Airbus plane. Flying straight to Caticlan airport saves time, as it is directly on the Jetty Port. Since our Wedding falls in the month of May, it’s a festive season on the island due to the Labor Day weekend. So book your flights as early as possible.

Arrival to Caticlan

Caticlan is a jump-off point to Boracay from the Jetty Port. It is best to change into slippers/ sandals at the jetty port for your comfort in anticipation of the beach.

If you’re staying with us in Shangri-La, a private chauffer will transfer you to their private lounge.

Otherwise, here are the rates from Southwest Premium Shared car service, which you can avail of once you land.

  • PHP 800 for Round Trip Transfer (Child 3- 5 yrs. old)

  • PHP 1,200 for Round Trip Transfer (Child 6-12 yrs. Old–Local)

  • PHP1,350 for Round Trip Transfer (Child 6-12 yrs. Old- Foreign)

  • PHP 1,500 for Round Trip Transfer (For Philippines Resident)

  • PHP 1,600 for Round trip Transfer (For Foreigners)

Banks

Boracay is like a mini city and several banks on the island will change Dollars or Euros.

Most resorts have this service as well. There are ATMs at the D'Mall that you can withdraw from. Ideally, paying in cash is the better way of settling bills when in restaurants or malls, as some small restaurants/resorts/shops may charge for credit card usage. Please confirm your resort's payment policy with us.
